032-Cap-Blanc-Cave

032 A cave close to Cap Blanc in Mallorca represents original large-scale porosity within Late Miocene coral framework of the Llucmajor reef complex. Photo taken from within this exceptionally large primary cavity 5 m across and 2 m high. Walls of cavity are made of branching and platy coral framework (now moldic pores) partly covered by cones and fans of coarse skeletal grainstone, that filtered in from above. Hammer for scale (William C. Ward and Luis Pomar,1991)
