045-Cap-Blanc-Sigmoids

045 Late Miocene Cap Blanc, Mallorca, Spain Bundles of sigmoids form a "set of sigmoids" representing a third-magnitude (3-M) accretional unit. The vertical shifts of the reef-core lithofacies reflect the amount of sea-level change on a 3-M (6th order) sea-level cycle. The sea cliff below the old watchtower at Cap Blanc shows with exquisite detail three sets of sigmoids. Sea cliff is 90 m high (Pomar, 1994; Pomar, 1991; Pomar, 1994; Pomar & Ward, 1994).
